Kuumba (koo-OOM-bah) CREATIVITY. To do always as much as
we can, in the way we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and
beneficial that we inherited it. Kuumba - Thinking of new ways to do
things.. (Think outside the box when it comes to your writing and use the
numerous resources out there to develop your gift.) Included in this site are
links to helpful resources for the "writers" (The ones who don't ask how to get started
writing - they just write!)
Register Your Copyright! Throw that "Poor Man's Copyright
Registration" stuff out with the trash. "As a man thinketh in his heart so is
he". If you think your work is good enough to share with the rest of the world
then it's good enough to register your copyright the correct way. That's the
kind of mentality that gets under my skin. Quit thinking like a poor man-you
ain't poor. Check this out, a sister spends at least 30 dollars for a set of
acrylic nails or a brother spends way more than that for a pair of NIKE or
whatever the style is that they're wearing these days. Visit the Library of
Congress Copyright Office Site and register your copyright the correct way.
For those who I have totally confused regarding a "poor man's copyright".
That type of registration is obtained by a person mailing a copy of
his or her writing/manuscript to his or her own address, without opening
the sealed envelope. The federal postmark is supposed to serve
as a proof of creation date. People say that they do this because they
don't have enough money to pay for the registration fee through the
Library of Congress. (Basically what I'm saying is that we make the
money for the things that are priority for us. Is your sharing your
writing really a priority?)
